English Language Program
GOALS & OBJECTIVE
The Faculty of English Language aims to produce Cambodians with English as a second language who shall contribute to national prosperity with good morals, ethics and excellence. Our quality of English education inspires passion for learning and develops responsible citizens in the globalized world.
The Curriculum
I. English for Beginners
As we begin teaching absolute beginners it is important to use gestures, pointing and what is often called "modeling". We begin teaching subject pronouns and also introduce the verb 'to be' at the same time with simple exercises. Teaching absolute beginners requires special attention to the order in which new language is introduced.

Our 20-point program provides a syllabus to take students from speaking no English at all, to being able to fulfill basic communication needs including; giving personal information, and describing their daily routines and the world around them.
A. INTEGRATED SKILLS DEVELOPMENT
Introduction to basic English ( Listening, Speaking, Writing, Reading, Grammar, Pronunciation, Vocabulary)
II. Pre-Foundation English Course
To ensure the effective implementation of the Foundation Year Course Program, the Faculty of Foreign Language provides this Pre-foundation English Course to all upper secondary education students to prepare students in their first year academic program of Bachelor degree study. This English Course is a full year- 2 terms + summer course.
Basic English Grammar, vocab, reading and language skills
III. English as Second Language (ESL)
This Course is designed for 'false' beginners- those learners who have had a few years training at some point in time and are now returning to start learning English again for a variety of reasons; work, travel, hobbies, etc. Most of these learners are familiar with English and as such can move pretty quickly to more advanced language learning concepts.

This course is designed for 10 weeks of instruction and takes students from the verb 'To be' through present, past and future forms, as well as other basic structures such as the comparative and superlative forms, the use of 'some' and 'any', 'have got', etc. This course is geared towards adult learners who need English for work and, as such, concentrates on vocabulary that is useful for business.

This course can be adapted to fit students' needs and is presented as a basis on which to build an elementary level ESL , EFL English course.
